Okay people, what is up with you grooms and brides that can not tell your groom(s) that WEARING SUNGLASSES ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY IS JUST RAZZ (local). It is understandable if the bridal photo shoot is outside and he is with his groomsmen. But sitting on the high table, dancing into the hall, at the engagement and most annoying while taking intimate bridal portraits. VERY VERY VERY VERY RAZZ, so if you never knew, now you do!!!!

ReplyDeletelet me confess, i wore shades in the church at my friend's wedding, and i was one of the groomsmen. but i had no choice really, i promise. the wedding was at 11am, on new year's eve. i had partied all of the previous night (as you do everyday when you spend 2 weeks in nige at christmas) and only gone to bed at about 7am. my eyes were red (blame 2 hours sleep and copious quantities of spiritual libations). throw in my nappy locks and i was not looking the sharp cat that i was intended to - red eyes and nappy locks?
so i confess i wore the shades throughout. it wasn't the hottest look, but it worked. at least the groom had the sense not to wear shades. lol
i promise not to wear shades at my wedding (apart from outside, in the sun of course).

ReplyDeleteI was wondering what your thoughts are on this "washing of the bride's feet".
To my understanding it's supposed to symbolise the washing away of what ever "bad luck" the bride brings with her into her new home.
I've spoken to a few friends who have declared that they would protest against this.
I'm also rather against this and it doesn't sit very well with me.
But then, if one makes a fuss about this and decides to "stand for what she believes in", doesn't she risk being labelled a trouble maker or a rebel
I guess what I'm saying is, what do you do when traditional aspects of your engagement or wedding ceremony goes completely against your belief system, whatever they maybe. Where does one draw the line of respectfully going along with things or plainly objecting.
How important are these things?
as far as am concerned if its against your beleive just take it as being treated as royalty and you have some do your pedicure and wash you feet and you just lounge away and relax.Moreover washing feet or not i dont think it takes more than a min or so and wat has washing feets got to do with either religion,Tradition or belief.Abeg if you want to wash my feet at no expence why not after all it will help in keeping my feets cool after all d dancing in the heels .My own opinion anyways
