  1. somebody shout halleluyah! I'm first again hehehe. aaahhh, first rant 4 me is a nobrainer...wedding websites! omo, some pple dont need to even put one up cos them no dey try at all, as in its not by force na, or is it? I hate seeing typos, unflattering photos and unecessary grammer and tori on wedding sites. anything worth doing at all is worth doing well, nuff said!
rant #2: has bin 'ranted' (lol) b4 sha but i still dont get why some brides and grooms wear...wait for it, GLOVES!!! that thang gives me the creeps, like what were u thinking??????

  2. hey girls, my favorite blog, my rant is mother-in-laws and sister-in-laws that want to run your wedding plans. I think a rant has been done abt this before sha.

anywayz my wedding is comming up in Novmember and my sister-in-law wants to run everything. its like she wants to achieve wat she cld not achieve with her one wedding by running my own. her taste is totally different frm mine and u can bet her taste is so OFF IT and i love my groom for that he's been putting her in her place telling her its our wedding and we choose to run it the way we want besides we are paying for d wedding! lol.

pls lets rant abt nosy sister-in-laws!

  3. About strapless wedding gowns. About wedding hairstyles, about wedding makeup, and about the over accessorizing of the bridesmaids. I mean if there is already a Bouquet, do they need a flower choker? I thought less was more?
And wedding websites, they arent for everybody man.

    ReplyDelete
  4. i totally agree wedding websites arent for the heck of it,keep it short and sweet.
my rant has to do with wedding planners!!yes-
it seems a lot of planners have a problem with being professional and giving you proce breakdowns - they are always hedging and trying to give round figures- fraking BREAK IT DOWN! not accusing them of dishonesty but it seems they usally want a blanket check.
another major peeve with planners is how they seem to have their own time table different from yours... pls take the cue form me, its my event unless you have a justification for wanting to wait till two days before the wedding to order the flowers!!!!!!
that said, last rant has to do with ushers not keeping and holding down seats for friends at the reception.we want to eat yo you know and we jolly well want to all sit together so maintain those table numbers...outtie ;-)

  5. From my experience, rant about wedding on a budget. Most couple borrow money for their wedding and i don't think this is wise.
Most problem in marriage start after the weddding due to financal stress.

  10. plastic flowers and brides wearing tejuosho 'pearl' necklases and earrings- also hate the cheap looking orange (gold) a lot of couples wear -like can you put some thought into it!!! i always judge a chick's husband by the type of rings she has on... just ranting, mind me not

    ReplyDelete
  11. Some of your rants are genuine and some are downright fake. Esp to the anon that said she judges a man by the ring his wife is wearing, how vain and downright petty. Definitely uncalled for and i can tell you have alot of maturing to do. All u fakesters get on my last nerves.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Exactly was abt to say the same abt anon 12:17....so a man shd steal or wat??? no comment

    ReplyDelete
  13. dont hate, dont hate! I do have a right to my opinion... if you have a cheap looking ring and you love it, hell if you have any ring at all...and you love it good for you!

The same way i may not like certain 'weaves' and think it looks terrible, is the same way the person wearing it likes it.

So go hang the 'fakester'tag, abeg-(thats a new word to me anyway, not that i care how tired you are with fakesters or not).

Is there a list of 'approved' rants i didnt know about?hehehe... get with the program my dear, i bet there are lots of people who love wearing gloves-male and female- but who aren't crying wolf cos everyone says they hate it!!!
so if i judge a man by the ring his wife wears, whats it to you?
QUIET IN THE CHEAP SEATS PLEASE

  16. @ anon 12:17,10:09,
Again, you are as shallow as they come. You can't compare what you said with the rants of pple who think wearing gloves is not cool, there is definitely no comparison. Which is why i said some comments here are genuine and some are downright uncalled for, esp your comments....A ring is a symbol of commitment and love and whether it is cheap or not shudn't matter. That the ring does not meet your expectation does not mean the man loves his wife any less. Its just like saying you look at the car a couple will use for their wedding and if it is not a horse carriage or a limo, it is cheap......Get off your high horse and stop being fake. I bet you can't tell the difference between a gold ring from a gold plated one.....
As for the word 'fakester"....pple coin up words everyday and it becomes legit after a while....bootylicious is now a word in webster dictionary....So if you don't know, now you know.

    ReplyDelete
  17. lol@olumide,
you are very amusing...you want to tell me about what a ring symbolizes?lol...Not sure why you are taking my rant personal ;-)

my dear, dont waste your breath...
and good luck coining phrases, etc.. if it makes you happy while you wait for your own gold (plated)ring, kudos...i already got mines!

ur above posts read like this to me- yadayadayadayadazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I shall remain on my high horse.
    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  18. my dear, i am not taking your rant personal...why shud i?....i already have a ring and it is definitely not gold plated....and neither is my wife's. I am just saying that your comments are shallow. This is a forum for rants not for whining.

Remain on your high horse and i hope you fall from it someday....that shud put you in your place....

No, my post did not read "yadayadayadayadazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" to you or else you won't respond to it...

The intention is for my words to get to you and it sure did.
I will take your advice and not waste my breath on you....It is "mos def" a waste of my precious time. I rest my case.

  19. Peeeooople!!! Wetin now? This is a fun blog not wrestling square... Haba!!!! Oya! anon and olumide, I prescribe Chill pills for the two of you!

As per ranting, it is a matter of opinion so any one u see and u don't agree with, my darling sisters, abeg JUMP AND PASS...

  20. beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeefffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

  21. oh ok, olumide is man?? no wonder he took that rant personal ;-)
    i love these 'comment wars'
    *evil grin*
    round three; gbagboun!!! LMAO
olumide, how can you hope someone falls off their horse? lol anon- enjoy ur own bling and leave others to their own as ricky said-JUMP and PASS!! I Love this blog

  22. lol @ anon and Olumide. I must admit you guys made me laugh....what is the beef all about?...Guess you guys are rubbing each other the wrong way....okay, y'all need to make up and let there be peace.

Don't mean to get into this but to look at rings of all things is a first for me. Never heard that before but they say "different strokes for different folks". To each his own.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i think looking at rings is similar to seizing aguy up based on his shoes or watch, i do that so i can totally understand where anon is coming from.
I can't say that makes her shallow because i dont know her. If we think some rants are fake and the ranters-lol shallow, does that make the real ranters deep? based on three lines we've scribbled here? I dont think so. that said, i'm enjoying the exchange1 sorry but its funny

    ReplyDelete
  24. Girls, i'm feeling this your profile picture o. Na million dollar one.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This is all so funny!!!! Olumide, you are a comic character....esp the part abt falling off her high horse will put her in her place.....(my thots to be exact)

I mean, why will "anon 12;17" rant about a ring, Is your own not up to par, honey(i'm just saying).

    ReplyDelete
  26. Interesting, and i thought i was the Queen of vanity...lol...apparently there folks out there worse than me. I can definately see where anon is coming from...as well as Olumide's point of view..(Not to aggravate the already existing feud)..But i have to confess i used to be anon way back in dayz, but with time, i'm pretty sure Ms. anon will realize there is more to life than material possession....don't get me wrong, i still love the finer things in life,i just don't let it define me. As far as attacking Ms Anon...ease up guys, its just her opinion...afterall....opinions are assholes, everyone has one.

Would have to commend you guys though for exercising some decorum while making your point...at least u both went about it in a tasteful manner.(i.e, no name calling...lol)

    ReplyDelete
  27. wow, what an interesting comment section this week....
i agree with tolu above, no name calling (yet)!!!
i still feel each person is entitled to their opinion and as for kemi-how do you know if her ring is up to par or not (or is yours not??)what if she falls off her high horse (etaanu) and crushes you?
everyone on here is annonymous to an extent,we dont know anything bout the anon, olumide (the contestants!!lol) or any of the ringside fans (myself tolu, kemi, whoever) so as my darling Ricky said, JUMP AND PASS.

ps i think that should be we weddingvogue readers' slogan as per comments- JUMP AND PASS ...after all, one of our readers goes by the moniker, snakeskin bride based on a similar comment 'party' like this... cheers all

    Moe

  28. Ify Ilodibe says...i am igbo and a man from my area is judged by how well his wife and children look. the men pride themselves on showing off their wives even if they are just wearing shirt and trousers. i can't say about the relationship they have at home but i know they like their wives looking good. my husband pays for my hair,my manis and pedis and always wants me wearing the latest style of clothes, whatever.this is despite the fact that i head the HR dept in my office.
I can therefore agree with anon. I may not nec. judge a man, judge is even strong sef, i just observe how well his wife looks to know how clued on or otherwise he is in style.
E do. now almost 20-something people have commented without leaving a rant!!

my contribution to rants, i don't like it when people feel the need to disturb the bride and groom when they are dancing their first dance with spraying and what not-it feels intrusive to me as it could be a special moment for them.

  33. @ wedding vogue........I hate typos on weddingsites too. I just hate it. Ok, you click on a weddingsite and all ya see is dull, no colors, everything just plain boring. I am like don't this couple know that this is going to be the best time in their life and they had better do it well the first time. That na my own storie.

I hope ya weekend was fabulous. I would be back..

    ReplyDelete
  34. WOW! I have missed out on the craziness this week. Anyhow, it's not too late to join the FUN!!!
Rants are crious o! I think everyone has talked about the one that gets to them the most ... Mine is a frowning groom and a cheesing bride... What the HECK is up with that? You will see the girl totally dancing and "komole"ing and the broda will just pack his hard face like say he needs to do #2 or something. C'mon guys it's your wedding day and if you ain't happy u do not need to be there. Ok ... and ladies you really look curazee with that Cheshire cat grin plastered on your face. Don't act like you do not see him "boning" over there. & You can continue dancing we all know wat is going to happen after we have ALL left.

    ReplyDelete
  35. This is one fantastic blog well done guys and keep up the good work...so here goes my rant is about speeches. I think they should be kept short and simple but i also believe that the bride should have something to say/ or at least have a chance to express herself... afterall its her day but in most naija weddings she sits there looking like "a doll" that is just there to dance n smile....

    ReplyDelete

was just telling a friend that how weird is it that in Naija, during the service, they will read love each other as christ loved u, then when the guy annouces that I love my wife so much (insert romantic sayings or PDAs), people start cringing, feeling uncomfortable and calling them 'oyinbo!!!!

    ReplyDelete
