Rant 1 - Cake Support

When you pick your wedding cake what do you think about? Size, color, style, how many people you want it to feed and lots more? So can someone please tell us why it takes 5 to 10 people to cut it. Usually when it's time to cut the cake the chairperson or the cake maker "supervises/leads" the cutting, so WHY is it that they have to call Chief XYZ, Alhaji and Alhaja XYZ, Mazi XYZ and co. Like someone said today it is to "support" the bride and groom. Hmmmmmmmmmmm "support" as in to catch the cake when it falls or help the couple cut the cake if it's too hard for them. We just don't get it.............Help!

Gbemi & Mollie Mols ... I feel u o ... In fact which one is the one that the person who made the cake will get up and explain how he/she made the cake ... duh ... Like we are going to be taking notes to go and recreate the cake at our house. And people get ALL technical about it, like as you can see we have purple flowers that were made from icing and this is how and why ... Stuff like dat ... By the time they are done talking, it's like feed each other the cake ALREADY!!!

LOL at the previous comment. Sometimes I just wonder why we Naija folks put ourselves through unnecessary torture. The way I see it, everyone wants to SHINE on a day that belongs to the BRIDE (notice that bride and shine rhymes). I know it's tough for a bride to be in control of her day especially in Naija, due to mama this and mama that trying to add their own flavor. But in a situation where a baker decides to educate the crowd on how she made the cake is absolute “BS”. This ain’t the MARTHA STEWART SHOW. I recommend brides-to-be to consult with their coordinators on putting together a weeding script that way you can get rid of unwanted events.

Awesome job “Bemi” and Molly.
